  • Grace Anderson

    6th Grade Teacher

  • Heather Ropiak

    7th Grade Teacher

I am the 7th grade homeroom teacher. I also teach grades 6, 7, and 8 for Mathematics and Social Studies.

I believe that learning math is an active process and students need to be active participants. Students need to possess and see the real-life value that math offers them. Besides the lecture and practice, students need to experience practical and relatable math skills...and have some fun along the way.

Social studies helps students to understand the world they live in.  Our young people are beginning to hear and begin to understand the current event issues that are in our world.  Students need to use history and literacy to make sense of their world.  So when they get older, they can make informed decisions about the issues that affect them.

I have been a teacher at St. Joe’s since the 2009-10 school year. But I have been part of this school and parish for much longer than that. All four of my husband’s and my children have attended and graduated St. Joe’s. We are strong believers in Catholic School and love the family community at St. Joe’s and St. Catherine’s. When not at school, we like to attend our children’s sporting events, watch movies and sports, and go out to eat and try new foods.

  • Laura Miller

    8th Grade Teacher

Hello! My name is Laura Miller. I have been the 8th grade homeroom teacher at St. Joseph since 1998. I teach middle school science, religion and health. Before finding my home at St. Joseph School, I had a variety of experiences. During/after graduating from Marquette University in 1988, I taught at a small private school/ daycare in Franklin. There, I had mixed classes with grades ranging from second through fifth. I also helped with the daycare in summer. While starting my family, I worked part-time at Racine Unified as a substitute teacher, at Head Start as a family service worker, and at High-Touch High-Tech, teaching science to various schools in SE WI. Wanting to settle down and work full-time again, I found St. Joseph School. Not only am I dedicated to St. Joseph, but also, my growing family. I have been married to my husband, Rodney, for over 30 years. We have raised three amazing children together; our oldest is our son, Kellen (wife, Corinne), and our two daughters, Kori (husband, David), and Kerah (husband Mikey). We are also blessed with four grandchildren currently: Roman, Royce, Kenna, and Shia. We have a Boston Terrier and four grandpups as well. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, fishing with my mom, or finding some DIY project to keep myself busy. My hobbies are painting, crocheting and reading. I certainly have been blessed. I truly believe that St. Joseph School is one of a kind, and certainly, a positive and faithful way to educate your child/ren. My former students continue to verify this.

  • Moriah Gomez-White

    Counselor

Hello! My name is Moriah Gomez White, or "Miss White" as the students call me. I graduated with my Master in Ed/ School Counseling in 2021, and recently went back and obtained a Masters in Ed/ Professional Counseling in 2023. I am proud to be a School Counselor here at St. Joe's, and also work as a Mental Health Therapist in a community based clinic part time. At the clinic I specialize in Drug and Alcohol Recovery Based Group Therapy. Counseling is clearly my passion in both an Education Based and Therapeutic Clinical setting!

Here at St. Joe's I have found an extended family! I care deeply about my fellow staff, and the families we serve. My role at the school includes weekly Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons on topics like Friendship, Anxiety, Social Skills, Embracing our Differences and Forgiveness (to name just a few). I work plenty of open office hours into my schedule to have conversations with students who might be struggling in different areas at home or at school. My office is a safe space to share struggles, and learn new skills to promote better mental health.

In my free time I enjoy a variety of hobbies and activities. Those include spending time with my elementary age nieces at our seasonal campsite, driving to Green Bay to visit my adult son who has made that city his home, coffee and shopping dates with my adult daughter, and attending local community theater, and larger scale theater as well. I LOVE a good hearty laugh, and spend lots of time drinking coffee while watching vintage sitcoms like I Love Lucy, Three's Company, and all of the vintage cartoons! I am truly an 80's fan, and a force to be reckoned with at any 80's music trivia event!

I am beyond blessed to serve at St. Joe's!
